UNABLE TO CONNECT TO ASP.NET DEVELOPMENT SERVER

when i installed VISUAL STUDIO 2008 it was working fine for few days …

one day when i tried to run my Asp.NEt web application it was prompting

” UNABLE TO CONNECT TO ASP.NET DEVELOPMENT SERVER “

..

so i started searching about its solution in google for few days and i got answer from one of the blogger named Amit … so i would like to share the answer to you guys

SOLUTION)

Try to Download this file “WebDev.WebServer.rar” and extract it using win rar or winzip

there you will find

WebDev.WebServer.exe which is of 113Kb in size

just copy that and paste

in the following place

C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\DevServer\9.0

there you can find already existance of the same file but with size greater than this one

–> the size of existing copy is larger because it is effecetd by virus

so we will replace that effected WebDev.WebServer.exe which is 198K with our file which is 134k

–> i promise there is no risk in doing so …

and this is only the easy solution

then close it and run the asp .net project it starts working
